How to get here:
Pauanui is easy to get to from Auckland, Tauranga, Rotorua or Hamilton. From either of these cities, it should take you less than two hours to get there. It's a nice drive on a windy road that takes you through the most stunning green gorges. Alternatively, you can take the scenic coastal route.
From Auckland, travel to the Kopu junction 5 km south of Thames. Follow State Highway 25a across the peninsula to reach Pauanui.
From Tauranga, Rotorua and Hamilton, navigate your way to Waihi. Follow State Highway 25 to Whangamata and or follow the Pacific Coast Highway up the coast.
There is an airfield at Pauanui so if you'd like to arrive from the sky, it's possible too.
